Nick completes CCI 1-Star (view video)
16 year old Event rider Nick O’Sullivan achieved his major goal for the 2011 season last weekend, when he completed a full CCI 1-Star Event, at Weston Park in Shropshire, with the support of CD&P MEDIA.
Weston is an FEI International three day competition and well-known as the culmination of the Eventing season. This year distinguished riders were joined by the country’s best youngsters, and were impressed at their approach – and courage - over Weston’s challenging disciplines.
Riding his 15 year old grey ‘Silver Prospect’, Nick trotted-up on the Wednesday and took, “an ok dressage” on the Friday – not helped by gale force winds which actually tore off his hat during the test. However, he cleared an excellent cross-country the following day and completed the Event on Sunday, with three down in the show jumping.
“I was disappointed with aspects of all three phases.” said Nick. “But Weston was my first 1-Star and three-day Event, and I was pleased just to finish – which many riders unfortunately didn’t manage.”
There were 29 fallers in the cross country section – highlighting Nick’s achievement.
The Runcorn-based Rocksavage Power Company commissioned CD&P MEDIA to create its Outage Induction DVD for 2012 this month. The Outage Induction is intended to help maintain Rocksavage’s excellent safety and environmental performance - underlining that safety is the plant’s number one priority.
